EURUSD Pip Calculator

Calculate EURUSD pip value, points, lot size, margin and profit for any account currency.

EURUSD prices the euro in US dollars and is the most traded currency pair in the world, which usually means tight spreads and deep liquidity. It reacts mainly to the gap between European Central Bank and Federal Reserve policy, to US jobs and inflation data, and to eurozone PMI and inflation releases. Activity builds when London opens and peaks during the London–New York overlap, while the late US afternoon and Asian session are typically quieter. The maths is the simplest in forex: the dollar is the quote currency, so with a USD account one pip (0.0001) on 1 standard lot of 100,000 euros is always worth exactly $10, whatever the exchange rate. Only accounts held in euros, pounds or other currencies need a conversion step.

Calculation notes

  • With a USD account the pip value never changes: $10 per standard lot, $1 per mini lot (0.1) and $0.10 per micro lot (0.01).
  • The fifth decimal on a 5-digit quote is a point (0.00001), so a 15-point spread is 1.5 pips.
  • Margin does depend on price, because 1 lot is 100,000 euros converted into dollars at the current rate before leverage is applied.

FAQ

How much is 1 pip on EURUSD with 1 lot?

Pip value = lots × 100,000 × 0.0001 = $10 for 1 standard lot in a USD account. A 0.1 lot is worth $1 per pip and a 0.01 lot $0.10 per pip.

What lot size should I use on EURUSD with a $10,000 account?

Lots = risk ÷ (stop in pips × $10). Risking 1% ($100) with a 25-pip stop gives $100 ÷ (25 × $10) = 0.4 lots. Change the stop or risk and the lot size scales in proportion.

Is the EURUSD pip value different for a euro account?

Yes. The pip is earned in dollars and then converted, so in a EUR account it is $10 divided by the EURUSD rate. The calculator does this conversion using the price you enter.
