USOIL Lot Size Calculator (WTI Crude Oil)
Calculate USOIL pip value, points, lot size, margin and profit for any account currency.
USOIL is a CFD on West Texas Intermediate, the US benchmark crude oil. Its price is driven by supply decisions from OPEC+, US production and inventory levels, global demand expectations, refinery activity, the US dollar and geopolitical events in producing regions. Weekly US inventory figures, published by the Energy Information Administration on Wednesdays, are a regular volatility point. Trading is most active during New York hours, when the underlying NYMEX futures see peak volume. At most CFD brokers 1 lot is 1,000 barrels, so a one-cent move is worth $10 per lot and a $1 move is worth $1,000. Some brokers use 100-barrel lots, which cuts every value by ten, so always check the contract size first.

Calculation notes
- With 1,000 barrels: $0.01 = $10 per lot and $1 = $1,000 per lot. With 100 barrels: $0.01 = $1 per lot.
- Oil CFDs often track a futures month and may roll; rollover adjustments can change your P&L independently of price.
- Margin = lots × contract size × price ÷ leverage; energy leverage is often lower than forex leverage.
FAQ
How much is 1 pip on USOIL with 1 lot?
A pip is $0.01. With a 1,000-barrel contract: 1 × 1,000 × $0.01 = $10. With a 100-barrel contract it is $1 per lot.
What lot size on WTI risking $200 with a $0.50 stop?
A $0.50 stop is 50 pips at $10 per pip per lot (1,000 barrels), so lots = $200 ÷ (50 × $10) = 0.4 lots.
How much is a $1 move in oil for 0.1 lots?
0.1 × 1,000 barrels × $1 = $100 with a 1,000-barrel contract, or $10 with a 100-barrel contract.
