XAGUSD Lot Size & Pip Calculator (Silver)
Calculate XAGUSD pip value, points, lot size, margin and profit for any account currency.
XAGUSD is the price of one troy ounce of silver in US dollars. Silver behaves partly like gold, reacting to the dollar, real interest rates and safe-haven demand, and partly like an industrial metal, with demand from electronics and solar panels tying it to the economic cycle. That double role usually makes it more volatile than gold in percentage terms. It is most active in the London session and during New York hours, when COMEX futures trade heavily. The contract is the key detail: 1 standard lot is 5,000 ounces at most brokers, so a move of just one cent is worth $50 per lot, and a $1 move is worth $5,000. Small lot sizes are therefore common.

Calculation notes
- Pip = $0.01 = $50 per lot; point = $0.001 = $5 per lot; a $0.10 move = $500 per lot.
- Some brokers use 1,000 oz or other contract sizes for silver; edit the contract size to match your platform.
- Margin = lots × 5,000 oz × price ÷ leverage.
FAQ
How much is 1 pip on silver with 1 lot?
1 × 5,000 oz × $0.01 = $50 per pip. A 0.1 lot is $5 per pip and 0.01 lot is $0.50 per pip.
What lot size on XAGUSD risking $100 with a $0.20 stop?
A $0.20 stop is 20 pips at $50 per pip per lot, so lots = $100 ÷ (20 × $50) = 0.1 lots.
Why is silver's pip value higher than gold's?
The contract is 5,000 oz instead of 100 oz, so each cent of movement is multiplied by a much larger quantity.
